Getting Back on Track

Getting on trackIt's a slow process to get back on track again. I remember even as a little kid, missing even a day of school made me feel like I was hopelessly lost and scrambling to get things done when I got back.

I only really took a single week off after Kaylie was born (and that was Thanksgiving week, to boot). Oh, last week was pretty light, too, but I did work. Still, this week I've been feeling like I'm scrambling. At least I finally got a new issue of my e-zine sent out this evening.

I'm sure, too, that as Kaylie develops a more stable schedule, we'll do better with that ourselves.

So, do you have a hard time getting back on track?

Yes, I have a hard time getting back on track. I find it difficult sometimes when working from home because I can see the housework piling up (dishes, laundry, dust bunnies) around me AND my inbox is filing up at the same time so I don't know whether to work-work or housework and I end up doing a bit of both at the same time and doing neither one efficiently.
To complicate matters, yesterday was a snow day so work-work didn't get done because the kids were enjoying the computer and in and out of the house all day...
I've got to get back to work....

Umm, yeah, going back to work when C was 3 months old, after a very nice but very flaky sub had been training the kids for 3 months? It took a little while to whip them back into shape, let alone deal with lesson plans, report cards, etc. But, you deal.
